EXCLUSIVE: Miami sports fans are ready for soccer franchise - Cordella

Italian transfer expert Fabio Cordella is backing David Beckham's MLS franchise for great success in Miami.

The Manchester United and Real Madrid legend is partnering with Bolivian businessman Marcelo Claure to build a MLS franchise in Miami.

Cordella, who has been linked with the Crystal Palace technical director's post, has enjoyed a career that has taken him around the world - but it all started in Miami.

The Italian knows the soccer landscape in Florida and tells tribalfootball.com: "I think it (the Beckham franchise) can be very successful. Yes, absolutely.

"Every day, I hear that support for soccer is getting stronger. The public love the game."

Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard has been linked with the Miami club, but Cordella believes the strength of support and Beckham's profile means the need for marquee names won't be so great.

"They do not need to go over the top with buying USA internationals. The Beckham profile is strong enough.

"The good thing is with extra time to plan, they can do their research and find the right names to suit the Miami support."
