Alan Curbishley admits he's been "too picky" about a return to management.
He wrote in the Daily Mail: "I have not worked in management since I left West Ham in 2008, but my exile has been self-inflicted. When I left West Ham I felt they were in the wrong and I was in the right, and it took its time to be sorted out and that was detrimental to me.
"But I've had opportunities to come back in and maybe I've been a bit too picky. Perhaps the advice to managers that have been out of the game would be to get back in as quickly as possible, because you are easily forgotten."
