Former Aston Villa boss Graham Taylor has slammed Wolves over the Mick McCarthy sacking.
In his column for the Daily Express, Taylor wrote: "The way they did that was really bad. To dismiss Mick, who had been tremendously successful at Wolves and not have the replacement lined up was foolish.
"Everybody has a go at tapping up, but it goes on in all kinds of business, not just football. That does not seem to have been the case at Wolves and that is quite amazing. To say they wanted to do things properly and not go behind Mick's back, suggests a holier-than-thou approach.
"They have put that forward as a right excuse for messing it up. But they did mess it up - whether or not they tried to do it the right way.
"I do not know the chairman Steve Morgan well, but I found it so surprising that he would go into the dressing room after the Liverpool game actually to chastise the players in front of Mick. It just undermined the manager. Then they sack him and say, 'Yes we do have an idea of who to give it to, but we're only going to give it to him until the end of the season'."
