Ex-Villa boss Little: Tough for Lambert to move on outcasts

Former Aston Villa boss Brian Little admits manager Paul Lambert faces a dilemma over getting his outcasts to move on.

Little has sympathy for Lambert, admitting it is tougher to deal with out-of-favour players nowadays than it was when he was in the Villa Park hot-seat between 1994 and 1998.

"It's hard because you have a transfer window, and outside of that you've got to utilise whatever you've got," he told the Birmingham Mail

"There's loads of ways of handling it, but it is more difficult now. It's not as easy now as it used to be in the past.

"I think with the amount of money we are talking about now, it means that people have to get the right deal to go somewhere.

"Going back to my period there was never that much of a difference between people were earning here, there and everywhere. It was an easier job in some respects."
