Ex-Tottenham ace Keane delivers winner as LA Galaxy edge Vancouver

Robbie Keane scored the only goal as LA Galaxy beat the Vancouver Whitecaps at the StubHub Center on Sunday.

The Galaxy skipper produced a side-footed volley from close range in the 47th minute as the Galaxy grabbed their second win of the 2014 MLS campaign.

Keane netted his third goal of the season thanks to a delightful cross from Stefan Ishizaki who played a pinpoint aerial ball for the Republic of Ireland international to find the back of the net with consummate ease.

The former Tottenham star spoke highly of Swedish midfielder Ishizaki after the match, praising him for the sublime delivery.

"It was a tremendous ball," said Keane.

"I just knew with someone like him sending the ball there's a great chance he's going to find me.

"I know if I go into a space, then more than likely he's going to find me in that space."

Galaxy star Landon Donovan was also complimentary of the match-winning play between the pair.

"It was just a great goal," said Donovan of Keane's 37th MLS goal in his 59th appearance.

"Great touch by Stefan, great run by Robbie, and a great cross. In a game like that, you need someone to make a play, and those two made a play, and it ended up being the difference."
