The 20-year old former Sydney FC youngster arrived in Lancashire from Malaysian club Kelantan FC earlier this week and will spend the next month trying to impress the Rovers coaching staff.
"He's very excited," Petratos' agent James Hardy said. "It's early days but he's going to spend a month there and then we'll see what comes of it.
"They're not rushing into it. Kelantan said what we'll do is we'll send him over there for a month and see how he goes, expose him to the right people and hopefully he does well.
"He had his first training session yesterday, obviously it was first time, but he reckoned he did well."
