Former Sunderland chairman Niall Quinn is sorry seeing Jack Colback now starring for Newcastle United.
Colback faces Sunderland for the first time since his summer defection.
"Jack had been a really strong player for Sunderland for three years (in the first-team) and we didn't bring him through and work on him to make Newcastle stronger," said the ex-Sunderland striker and manager Quinn to the Daily Mail.
"He and Jordan Henderson have been the pick of our academy players in recent years and we got good money from Liverpool for Jordan, but to lose Jack for nothing certainly hurt.
"Something went wayward there."
