Ex-Spurs striker: No way Ronaldo watched World Cup final

Former Tottenham forward Darren Bent believes that there is no way that Cristiano Ronadlo watched the World Cup final.

The Portugal forward would have been upset to see his long-time rival Lionel Messi lift the trophy.

Bent, who played against Ronaldo in the Premier League before he went to Real Madrid in 2009, spoke about the Ronaldo situation on talkSPORT with presenter Andy Goldstein.

“It doesn't matter what Ronaldo does now for the rest of his career, Messi gets that World Cup winners' medal which he won't get," said Goldstein.

“That's it, he's fuming," replied Bent.

“Someone who's a serial winner like Ronaldo, I could understand why that would bother him, Messi winning that World Cup."

Asked if Ronaldo watched the final, where Argentina beat France on penalties, Bent added: “No way.

“Turned all his updates off, notifications off, everything."
