Tottenham are closing on a move for Stevenage defender Ben Wilmot.

The Sun says Spurs are eyeing Stevenage centre-half Wilmot — though they face a battle with arch rivals Arsenal for his signature.

Gunners scout Pat Holland — who ironically used to be the head man at Tottenham's youth level — watched Wilmot, 18, in action last week.

Tottenham are spreading a wide net in the Football League as they look at top prospects in his age group.
