Ex-Spurs captain King hails Walker Euros form

Former Tottenham captain Ledley King is full of praise for Kyle Walker over his Euros form.

King, who played alongside Walker at the back during the latter stages of his career, has been mightily impressed by what he's seen of the ex-Sheffield United man.

“Kyle is full of confidence and that's important," said Ledley to the Spurs website. “He was named Man of the Match against Portugal in the final friendly and that has got him the starting place in the tournament.

“He had that chance, he took it and he's gone from strength to strength. He's had his best season for the Club and that has carried onto the international scene now.

“You have to remember when he had that unbelievable breakthrough season in 2011-12 (when Kyle was named PFA Young Player of the Year) he was still very young and still had a lot of learning to do. He's done that.

“He's always been great going forward and there is no stopping him now. He has the right balance of attacking and being a top-class defender now."
