Ex-Seattle Seahawks tight end Stevens arrested for assaulting US women's star Hope Solo

Former Seattle Seahawks and Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Jerramy Stevens has been arrested for allegedly assaulting USA women's star Hope Solo.

The pair were set to be married on Tuesday but Stevens, currently a free agent, was arrested on suspicion of assaulting the goalkeeper on Monday according to reports.

However, Stevens and Solo tied the knot hours after he was released with a Twitter post from the goalkeeper's US teammate Jillian Loyden revealing a ceremony had taken place.

"Happy to witness such an amazing celebration of real love," Loyden tweeted.

33-year old Stevens and 31-year old Solo applied for a marriage license on Thursday according to King County records.
