Former Real Madrid wing-back Royston Drenthe has entered the acting profession.

The Dutch footballer has announced his appearance in a series called Mocro Maffia, which about gangs and cocaine trafficking in Amsterdam.

A couple of images from the series has been revealed of Drenthe with a gun in his hand.

"The time has come," Drenthe wrote on Instagram.

"After a long silence, I can finally announce that I can be seen on the Mocro Maffia series!

"I am super excited about my participation in the series and I can't wait to entertain the viewers with my role!

"I'm more than excited to show you this other side of Royston, but I hope you enjoy it as much as I do, so go check it out."
