Former Real Madrid and Liverpool striker Fernando Morientes has been named new coach of Fuenlabrada.

Morientes had been linked with an assistant's role at Real alongside Rafa Benitez.

Fuenlabrada plays in the Segunda B.

As a manager, Morientes has cut his teeth at the Real Madrid academy and will now come up against Castilla and Zinedine Zidane, who he played with at Real for three seasons.
