Former Real Madrid midfielder Kaka believes Luka Modric should be considered for the Ballon d'Or.

Kaka says Modric deserves the gong ahead of former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo, now with Juventus.

He told Gazzetta dello Sport: "Modric has had some impressive results, winning the Champions League and being able to play the World Cup final.

"He is the man who creates the show and commands the game, (PSG striker Kylian) Mbappé is very strong and has a whole career ahead of him.

"Let the future be his."

On Ronaldo, Kaka added: "For Italian football it's great to have him, he brings visibility, sponsors, media interest around the world.

"Cristiano brings many things to the Italian football system as a whole, not just for Juventus."
