Former Real Madrid coach John Toshack has praised Iker Casillas for the way he's handled his treatment by Carlo Ancelotti this season.
Toshack first introduced Casillas to the first team when in charge of Real.
"He has a spectacular trajectory, with some amazing saves, always in decisive moments, like the one against Robben... There are top goalscorers, Golden Boots, but how many points has Casillas given? How many games has he won?
"And above all, for how long? It's been 14 years. That's a long career and always at the highest level. Nobody can know why he isn't playing at the moment. And looking for reasons to put him on would be kind of an affront to the other goalkeeper, who is also putting in some good performances. I think that Iker is taking it all very well. Always, when I see him as the national team captain, I remember that first day at Real's training complex. I remember it as if it were yesterday."
