Ex-Rangers, Middlesbrough midfielder Thomson unsure of Hibs future

Kevin Thomson is not sure what will happen at Hibernian after coming out of contract with the club.

The 28-year old former Rangers midfielder returned to Easter Road from Middlesbrough in March but has now ended his second spell with the Hibees and will ponder his future with the Edinburgh outfit this summer.

"I don't know. You would need to ask the manager and the chairman. I'm just going to recharge the batteries and look forward to going wherever it may be in pre-season," he said after going down to Celtic in the Scottish Cup final on Sunday.

"I'll look forward to the summer and see what options I've got.

"I'm going to spend some time with the family and I'm actually doing my coaching badges this summer. So I'm looking forward to that and I'll see what happens.

"I love playing football. I could have sat in the house and done nothing but I showed a bit of commitment and put the boots back on and got out there in training.

"I love training every day and playing on a Saturday. The fairytale never quite got there in the end but I gave my all and if people appreciate that, then great.

"I've really enjoyed it. The boys appreciate me and the manager appreciates me and he gave me a platform to play some football again."
