New Sunderland boss Dick Advocaat insists he has not taken over at the Premier League club for financial reasons.
The Dutch tactician has stepped in at the Stadium of Light in an interim role for the remainder of the season following the sacking of Gus Poyet but has played down claims he has come to England's north east for a hefty paycheck.
"What do I have to lose? Nothing. I'm happy to do it," he told NOS.
"But the salaries I'm reading everywhere are nonsense. The financial aspect was not important for me at all.
"Normally I'll be here just for two months."
