Former Portsmouth hopeful Onismor Bhasera is on the verge of signing for Plymouth Argyle.
Plymouth are hoping to be able to call on Zimbabwe international Bhasera after applying for a work permit for the defender.
An independent tribunal will hear the club's application on behalf of Bhasera, who has been training with the Championship club.
The 23-year-old Mutare-born former Kaizer Chiefs defender has made 13 appearances for his country.
The left-back played 51 league games for South African club Kaizer Chiefs between 2007 and 2009.
