Ex-Oldham striker White happy in Tasmania

Former Oldham Athletic striker Daniel White has moved his life and career to Tasmania. The 25-year old has settled his young family in Hobart and is playing with South Hobart where he scored on debut and helped them win the state premiership.

Such was his impression on Tasmanian football, state coach Eamonn Kelly included White in his state team who will play against Sydney FC's youth side tonight.

The match is a curtain raiser to the Sydney FC versus Wellington PhoenixA-League fixture and former Latics front man couldn't be happier.

"I can't wait," he said. "You could say it was a dream start to my Australian career I guess ?".

"I know it will be tougher when I trial with mainland clubs, and I am looking forward to having a go.

"It's a lovely place, and I have family there, so of course I would love to be a part of putting Tasmania on the Australian football map." White concluded.
