Ex-Newcastle striker Gallacher happy hearing Barnes open to Scotland switch

Former Newcastle striker Kevin Gallacher has welcomed news of Harvey Barnes committing to Scotland.

Barnes is open to switching his international commitment from England to Scotland.

"To be fair, I'm seeing a lot of players looking at this Scotland side and seeing the way they play football, so it's an ideal situation," Gallacher told bitcoincasinos.com.

"It's a very strong squad at the moment – if Harvey decides that's the avenue that he wants to go down – particularly seeing the midfield and the frontline and how the Scottish players are playing currently – he'll know how difficult it is to get into that Scottish setup.

“It would be good to welcome new players into the national team to bolster the squad and make it a strong future. We'd welcome anyone into the nation who wants to work hard for the country and get good results – the more quality players we can get, the better it will push the team forward. It's hard to tell until we've put him in the team and got him playing our brand of football, but players like him who have Premier League experience will always be fantastic additions."
