Former Newcastle striker Andrew Cole is a fan of Alexander Isak.
The Swede, says Cole, has pushed Callum Wilson to lift his own standards.
He told William Hill: “I think Alexander Isak's arrival at Newcastle has definitely spurred Callum Wilson on. "He would have thought he was the number one at the club, but Isak has come in and I think he's been absolutely unbelievable.
“I've been really impressed with what I've seen [of Isak] and I expect him to be a big, big player for Newcastle for many years. He can get on the ball, he can run at people and scores goals, so I think he's got everything to be very successful in the Premier League."
Cole added: "He's the total opposite to Wilson, who stays around the penalty box and is a quality finisher. I think they've only played once or twice alongside each other and I'm surprised by that. I'm sure Eddie [Howe] believes they'll develop into a good partnership, but I thought he might have tried them together earlier than he has."
