Temporary Newcastle boss Alan Shearer has admitted that he is in regular contact with former manager Sir Bobby Robson. The Toon now go into their last game of the season at Aston Villa knowing that they must better the result of Hull - who host Manchester United - to guarantee survival.

"Yes, I speak to Bobby on a regular basis," Shearer said, before highlighting that he takes bits from every manager he has worked under especially Terry Venables, Robson and Kenny Dalglish.

"He has given me little bits here and there which is great. It's nice to speak to him."
