Ex-Monaco coach Moreno proud of progress of Real Madrid target Tchouameni

Former AS Monaco coach Robert Moreno has recalled working with Aurelien Tchouameni.

The France midfielder is the subject of a €100m bid from Real Madrid.

Moreno, when in charge, insisted ASM sign Tchouameni from Bordeaux and is delighted seeing his recommendation proved right.

He told AS: "Tchouameni seemed like a strategic signing to me because of the growth potential and immediate performance that in my opinion he could offer us.

""For him to come I had to call him and convince him with my French, which at that time was learned by forced marches.

"Aurélien is a boy who is very clear that he wants to be a great footballer. He is very involved and always transmits his desire to learn.

“I remember that we had to carry out a specific job with him to profile himself well. Cesc was always ahead of him, although he was not stronger than him. The boy had an enormous desire to learn, but he made mistakes typical of youth."
