Ex-Man Utd keeper Howard: Fernandes happier with Ronaldo gone

Former Manchester United goalkeeper Tim Howard believes Bruno Fernandes will flourish with Cristiano Ronaldo now having left.

Fernandes impressed in United's 3-0 defeat of Nottingham Forest last night.

Howard said on NBC: "Before Ronaldo came. He was the leader. He was scoring goals. He was all over the referee. He was loud,' Howard said on NBC Sports' coverage of United vs. Forest.

"Kinda got into his shell while Ronaldo was here. This is what we're going to see again.

"This is his team, Casemiro's team. This is what we need to see from them."
