Former Manchester United assistant coach Michael Carrick is being linked with Swindon Town manager's job.
The Robins, who narrowly missed out on promotion this season, losing in the play-offs to Port Vale at the semi-final stage, are on the hunt for a new boss after Ben Garner was appointed as Charlton Athletic's new manager last week.
Swindon, who finished sixth in League Two, earned plenty of plaudits for their style of play under Garner.
And Carrick has been installed as the odds-on favourite to become the new manager of the League Two side.
The Geordie left United last season after a short stint as caretaker manager after the dismissal of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
