Ex-Man Utd academy chief Ryan explains sudden Michael Keane progress

Retiring Manchester United academy chief Jim Ryan says the sudden development of Michael Keane is down to a growth spurt.

The defender won the club's Reserves Player of the Year award and is wanted by Blackburn Rovers and West Ham United.

"Michael Keane had very quick growth spurts and got to be very awkward and gangly but now looks bigger than Will (Keane)," Ryan told manutd.com.
