Ex-Man City winger SWP: Why I loved playing against Man Utd...

Former Manchester City star Shaun Wright-Phillips has explained why he loved playing against bitter rivals Manchester United.

Wright-Phillips enjoyed a fairly successful Premier League career playing for the likes of City and Chelsea over the years and the former England international has gone on to reveal that the opponents he relished playing against the most were United.

City square off against United in the Manchester derby in a fortnight's time and speaking ahead of the game, Wright-Phillips has stated that he gained a lot of pleasure from scoring against the Red Devils.

Wright-Phillips, who plays for the Didier Drogba-owned Phoenix Rising, told 888sport: "It's going to be a tough challenge and it's nice that Jose has gone to United because derby days might now go back to when there was a lot of aggression and everyone wanted to win to get one over on the other.

"I hope it goes back to that because I used to love playing against the Reds.

"Scoring against them just made it even better."
