Former Manchester City winger Peter Barnes feels it's the English talent which can rescue their season.
Barnes says James Milner and Frank Lampard should be starting in City's midfield.
He told the Daily Star Sunday: "I would definitely start Milner - but the manager leaves him and Lampard on the bench and then brings them on when things are going wrong.
"He may just favour the foreign players too much. Fernando is not a better player than Milner or Lampard. He doesn't create as much and doesn't get shots on target.
"Fernando doesn't do what Milner and Lampard can do. Surely those two must be in there somewhere. I would certainly put them on the list of starters for City."
