Former Manchester City and Barcelona assistant coach Domenec Torrent is set to be named new coach of Flamengo.
Torrent will succeed Jorge Jesus, who has left Fla to take charge of Benfica.
The president of Flamengo, Rodolfo Landim, has opted for Torrent, who was part of Pep Guardiola's 'scouting' department at Barça and then became his No2 at Manchester City. Torrent also was senior coach of New York City FC for two seasons.
The Spaniard will be appointed as Flamengo coach for the coming season. His contract will only run for 12 months, with Landim's tenure to end in 2021 before Fla's next election.
