Former Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini is favourite to take the Real Betis job.

Betis sacked Rubi yesterday and are now seeking a replacement.

AS says Betis president Angel Haro wishes to find a "coach of renown" and Pellegrini is high on his shortlist.

Last week, Jesus Martinez, Pellegrini's agent, insisted he was unaware of the rumours.

"Where did that come from? I do not know anything about Betis, nobody has called me, I have not read or heard anything. Manuel has three or four offers on the table that we are evaluating and he will definitely be the one to tell me what he thinks may be best for him," he said.

“There are important European teams and other Arabs, from Dubai exactly. I can't say the clubs, but there is interest from Spain, Turkey, Italy. We have conversations with those clubs, but I don't know anything about Betis."
