Ex-Man City boss Mancini applies for South Africa job

Former Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has applied for the South Africa job.

The Sun says Bafana Bafana failed to qualify for the African Cup of nations – then they were without a manager as Ephraim 'Shakes' Mashaba was sacked for “gross-misconduct".

Mancini has applied for the role, along with fellow countryman, former Republic of Ireland boss Giovanni Trapattoni.

The South African Football Federation (Safa) indicated that there were over 60 applicants for the post.

Along with the two Italian's CV's is the resume of the man who led Cameroon to this year's African Cup of Nations, Hugo Broos.
