Ex-Liverpool, Villa keeper James not after Bristol City job

Former Liverpool and Aston Villa goalkeeper David James has not applied for the manager's job at Bristol City.

City chairman Colin Sexstone has revealed the club expect to have completed interviewing a shortlist of "five or six" applicants for the vacant manager's position at Ashton Gate by this evening.

Regarding James, Sexstone told Bristol City Player: "He's not applied. David and his agent are taking that up with the paper. Where that story came from we don't know, there's no truth in it whatsoever."
