Former Juventus midfielder Blaise Matuidi has announced his retirement.

The Frenchman comes off contract at Inter Miami on December 31.

“Dear Football, I loved you so much," wrote Matuidi on social media with a photograph of himself holding France's 2018 World Cup.

“Football, you gave me so much, but the time has come to say enough. I accomplished my childhood dreams and the dreams I had as a grown man.

“It is with a lump in my throat, but with pride, that I turn over this new leaf today. Thank you!"
