Former Juventus coach Gigi Maifredi is backing their move for PSG winger Angel di Maria.

Off contract at the end of June, Di Maria is being linked with Juve.

Maifredi told TMW: "If they take Di Maria above all, he is a player from another category, he proved it, he touches the ball great and moves well. He can give a lot to a team that needs this.

"Juve had no order or players who could give it to him.

"(Paul) Pogba? The returns do not always reflect what one has in mind. I should have followed him more but seeing that he was not a Manchester United starter leaves you some doubts.

"The Juventus fans remember him in a world class midfield with Pirlo, Marchisio, him and Vidal. He won't find such a midfield, I hope he will give that missing touch."
