Ex-Italy team doctor Castellacci offers Juventus fans positive news on Pogba recovery

Former Italy team doctor Enrico Castellacci believes Paul Pogba will see action for Juventus in October.

The former Manchester United suffered a knee injury in training on the weekend and has left Juve's US camp to return to Turin.

Pogba is expected to undergo surgery and Castellacci told TuttoJuve: "I have not visited the boy, so the idea is only based on what I read. The boy's injury is of the meniscal type, the external one as recovery is always a little more boring than the internal one.

"The problem is deriving from the recovery times: when it touches the internal compartment it is faster, on the contrary it is a little later when it hits the external one. Depending on how Pogba reacts, recovery is expected in 45/60 days.

"He could return at the end of September / early October. Unfortunately he was injured during the preseason, this did not make him finish the normal procedure. And he will have to recover in this sense. I'm sorry for Juventus, because Pogba he's an important player."
