Seattle Sounders star Clint Dempsey is the new highest-paid player in Major League Soccer.
The 30-year old USA international has topped the MLS earners list according to the MLS Players Union with his salary of more than $5million.
The former Fulham and Tottenham forward has taken the mantle from New York Red Bulls ace Thierry Henry, who brings over $4million, while LA Galaxy skipper Robbie Keane, Red Bulls midfielder Tim Cahill and Keane's Galaxy mate Landon Donovan come in just behind.
