Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper is a contender to succeed Roy Hodgson at Crystal Palace.
The London club are contemplating the future of Hodgson as the team slides towards the relegation zone.
While Hodgson may see out the season at Palace, he is not the long-term answer in his 70s.
Per The Standard, Cooper is now the man that Palace may target when Hodgson departs.
He is out of work, having lost his job at Forest this week after a run of poor results.
The City Ground club have not yet decided on their new manager, but the likes of Nuno Espirito Santo and Julen Lopetegui have been linked.
