Former Dynamo Moscow defender Vladimir Granat has urged Arsen Zakharyan to not leave until the summer.
The winger continues to be linked with a move to Chelsea this month.
But Granat, who now plays for Russian Third Division Olimp-Dolgoprudny, said: "For Zakharyan, it will be very problematic to go to Chelsea in the winter transfer window.
"In connection with the current situation, it takes time to establish contact again. We must also take into account what attack and midfield is now at Chelsea.
"There are untouchable players such as Mason Mount, Kai Havertz, Christian Pulisic, Hakim Ziyech and Raheem Sterling.
"Arsen would find it difficult there. It is worth waiting until the summer."
