Ex-Chicago, Boulogne defender Soumare finds his way to Montreal Impact

Bakary Soumare has found another new home after being picked up by the Montreal Impact in the second stage of the 2014 MLS Re-Entry Draft.

The 29-year old defender was taken with pick number one in Stage 2 of the second-chance draft on Thursday after spending the last season-and-a-half with the Chicago Fire.

Soumare, who kicked off his career with the Fire in 2007, has also played with French club Boulogne, German side Karlsruhe and has had a short stint with Philadelphia Union.

Following the former Mali international in Stage 2 of the Re-Entry Draft was veteran defender Marvell Wynne who joins San Jose Earthquakes after being released by Colorado Rapids.

The Quakes also took winger Sanna Nyassi with a second-round pick, joining Houston Dynamo in taking two selections. The Texan club gave another chance to striker Chandler Hoffman and midfielder Nathan Sturgis.

Also selected in the draft was ex-Vancouver Whitecaps and San Jose winger Atiba Harris (FC Dallas), former LA Galaxy and Chivas USA forward Tristan Bowen (New England Revolution) and Seattle Sounders' past back-up keeper Josh Ford (Orlando City).
