Ex-Chelsea winger SWP: We're now seeing fight from Mudryk

Former Chelsea winger Shaun Wright-Phillips has words of advice for Mykhaylo Mudryk.

The Ukrainian forward, who missed their 2-0 loss to Brentford with a muscle injury, has been improving in recent weeks.

While Wright-Phillips admits to seeing better form out of Mudryk, he still feels the attacker must improve to seal his place in the team's starting line-up when every player is fit.

“I think he is heading in the right direction, those two goals will help him massively and people might say the one against Arsenal was lucky - so what?" he told Express Sport via Betway.

“It's in the back of the net. For his confidence, that will do him the world of good and playing at Stamford Bridge in a team that isn't doing well, isn't easy."

“He is learning that now and in some ways it is good that it is happening now rather than later," Wright-Phillips added.

“Because he knows what it takes now and he has got to stay at that level consistently. The fans will demand it and so will the manager.

"One thing you can't do is not run around and make a nuisance for yourself and not fight for the club. He seems to be doing all those things so I think he will get better."
