Former Chelsea winger Florent Malouda claims he rejected Premier League offers to sign for Metz.
Malouda, released by Trabzonspor, was a free agent until agreeing a deal with Metz last week.
He spent a short time with Crystal Palace and revealed: "When my contract was canceled by Trabzonspor, I had no agent and it was the end of the market.
"This, however, has not been a problem, I was able to calmly study the different proposals that I had from Serie A, the Premier League, India and the United States.
"I was struck by the plans of Metz, it is a historic club with a young group, where I will have great responsibilities on the field."
