Former Chelsea manager Frank Lampard isn't surprised by the problems Mauricio Pochettino has encountered this season.

Lampard was caretaker manager towards the end of last term at Chelsea.

Before victory over Fulham last night, he said: "I'm not completely surprised with their difficulties having experienced it first hand at the end of last season.

"I came into a club that over eight months had results you do not expect from Chelsea and that's working with two top managers in Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter.

"I felt I could see some of the issues there which was probably confidence because of results - if you do not win at Chelsea it creates that nervousness and maybe some motivation throughout the squad and I think having a big squad, it was unprecedented and it was spoken about a lot."
