Former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is being linked with Julen Lopetegui's job at Real Madrid.

AS says while Lopetegui is safe for now, Real Madrid are still lining up alternatives in the Bernabeu dugout.

Former Chelsea and Juventus manager Antonio Conte and Real Castilla coach Santiago Solari are among the shortlist being discussed by the board.

Conte was considered as a replacement for Zinedine Zidane this summer, but president Florentino Perez was concerned his abrasive style would clash with an ego-filled dressing room.

The Italian is still seeking a pay-off from Chelsea after his axing at the end of last season.
