Australian national team captain Lucas Neill looks likely to continue his career in the UAE Pro-League according to a Dubai-based agent.
The former Millwall, West Ham United, Blackburn Rovers and Galatasaray defender was recently released by Al Jazira after just one season and the leading agent told SBS that there was a strong chance he could remain in the Middle East.
"It is 80 per cent certain that he will sign for Al Wasl," said the agent.
"But it may be a case of the player not commanding the same wage that he earned the previous season at Al Jazira, whether he signs for Al Wasl or not."
34-year old Neill reportedly wants a $1.5million deal to remain playing in the UAE but the agent suggests he may have to lower his asking price if he wants to find a new club.
"Players need to be realistic about the money on offer at this time, especially when they are in their 30s," he added.
