Ex-Blackburn, West Ham, Everton defender Neill launches investment in MR Soccer

Official release

Socceroos captain Lucas Neill has today launched his investment in the fun, friendly, fitness MR SOCCER program.

Neill, who will captain Australia in their World Cup qualifier against Saudi Arabia in Melbourne next week, was on hand with former Socceroo teammate Mark Robertson and 15 lucky youngsters to launch his involvement in the football business venture at Sydney's David Phillips Field at Daceyville.

The MR SOCCER programs focus on School Sports Sessions, Holiday Camps and a Skills Development Program with all clinics personally designed by Neill and Robertson and open to both boys and girls of all fitness and skill levels.

The popular School Sports programs provide a complete school sport solution and work in conjunction with schools to encourage fitness and a healthy lifestyle as part of school sports participation.

Neill said he had invested in MR SOCCER because he saw it as a good chance to provide kids with the opportunity to participate in a fun fitness environment on the football field long into his retirement from the pitch.

"I feel strongly about wanting to help make a tangible difference to future of not just soccer in Australia but also the general health and well being of our kids," Neill said.

"Grass roots soccer is where the greatest impact can be made and I would like to pass on the skills that I have developed over the years to participants of all levels.

"MR SOCCER is the best program of its kind around and I wouldn't have invested my own money if I didn't believe it was."
