Ex-Blackburn No2 McDonald rejects Motherwell job

Former Blackburn Rovers assistant manager Neil McDonald has turned down the job at Motherwell.

The Daily Express says McDonald has joined former Sunderland boss Ricky Sbragia in knocking back the chance to succeed Craig Brown in the Fir Park hotseat.

"My discussions with Motherwell went very well and they look a very solid club but I don't feel it is the right job for me at this time," said McDonald.

"I watched the game against Rangers and I was very impressed with the squad and the people at the club.

"But after thinking things over I just didn't get the feeling that the job was 100 per cent right for me."
