Former Benfica coach Rui Vitoria says he hasn't been surprised by the success of Ruben Dias and Ederson at Manchester City.

Vitoria worked with both City stars at Benfica.

He told O Jogo: "Rúben Dias is a complete defender. He is focused and has a great mentality and my question in the first games was what his behavior and attitude would be. He changed to [Manchester] City and nothing changed. it was a surprise and for me he is one of the best players in the world.

"Ederson is a fantastic goalkeeper. In my opinion he has the perfect profile for a great team. He can play 90 minutes with nothing to do and resolve itthe only time he is called on to play. He has a lot of confidence, tranquility and is extremely strong with the feet."

Vitoria added: "For me it's fantastic to see them among the elite. In Portugal we do a great job with young people and we were able to prepare them for the big stages. It was an honour to coach them."
