Former Atletico Madrid coach Javier Aguirre is being lined up for a LaLiga return with Leganes.
AS says the veteran Mexican coach is in talks with Leganes as interim boss Luis Cembranos prepares to step down. Cembranos took charge two weeks ago after the sacking of Mauricio Pellegrino. Careteker managers are restricted to a two-week tenure in Spain.
Aguirre, also formerly of Espanyol and Osasuna, has been out of work since his dismissal as Egypt coach last summer.
Leganes have turned to Aguirre after talks with Gus Poyet fell through over the weekend.
