Ex-Arsenal striker Mavididi: What I learned from Ronaldo at Juventus

Montpellier striker Stephy Mavididi has spoken of playing with Cristiano Ronaldo at Juventus.

The former Arsenal prospect spent two years with Juve before joining Montpellier last summer. He boasts two goals in nine games so far this season.

Asked about Ronaldo, Mavididi told L'Equipe: "As with Thierry (Henry), it was his mental strength that struck me. He is able to respond constantly and in any situation. If I could choose just one of his qualities, it would be this.

"It takes time, experience and many, many failures to get to such a mental level.

"I started to think more about statistics, not just in matches. To constantly wanting to be the best, the one who scores the most goals in training for example. What I realized, too, is the importance of taking care of your body on a daily basis. Cristiano always arrived before the others to spend time in the weight room. And after every workout, he would go back to do more."
