Former Arsenal striker Alan Smith believes Chelsea boss Antonio Conte dropped Diego Costa for their FA Cup semifinal win over Tottenham.

The 28-year-old came on in the second half but has now failed to score since the win at West Ham on March 6.

Smith told Sky Sports: "Listen, Diego Costa's not been pulling up any trees lately.

"He had a wonderful spell but the last month or so he's come off his game.

"Once again, we're wondering whether the Chinese offer and the money has turned his head.

"That could be a problem in the run-in if your centre-forward's not fully motivated and not playing as well as he might.

"It might have been a little kick up the backside for him."
